Anything less than philosophy’s full and open politicization would violate the norms of the discipline: even, let’s face it, by Callard’s own minimal lights. It is epistemically harmful for philosophers — as it is for anyone — to conceal the political force of the practice they are engaged in behind an empty façade of neutrality.
